Kingdom of Fife searching for missing fisherman
The "Kingdom of Fife" along with the passenger ferry "Hebridean Princess" and the Oban and Tobermory RNLI lifeboats as wekk as a Royal Navy helicopter, was involved in the search for a fishing boat which reported to be sinking to the west of Easdale Island on Apr 25, 2013. At 1:08 p.m., the crew of the Oban lifeboat was tasked to proceed to Easdale Island following a Mayday broadcast to Stornoway Coastguard. The boat reported that it was taking on water and in danger of capsize with one person on board and was situated to the west of Easdale Island. The Oban lifeboat proceeded to the scene as quickly as possible. On arrival at the reported co-ordinates, the vessel was not found and a search immediately started. At 9.30 p.m. the units were still engaged in the effort to find and recover the single fisherman involved at the north end of the Isle of Seil. At 10.15 p.m.the search has been called off for the night, with the fading light. The various search vessels were dispersing.
