The Karoli: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

Investigators of the Bremen Water Police controlled the "Karoli" in the morning of July 10, 2014, in Bremerhaven and found that liquid waste illegally stored in a tank on board. It was a mixture of rainwater and household waste with a plastic content of at least 20 percent. The waste had been loaded in Ireland and transported to Bremerhaven. The 62-year-old officer in charge had to pay a security deposit of 6900 Euro. A criminal investigation was launched because of unlawful dealing with waste was initiated. The contaminated tank had to be cleaned and the contents of about 100 cubic meters had to be disposed of properly. The ship left Bremerhaven the same evening at 10 p.m.
