Ship surveyed in Kolding after running into fish farm

The captain of the "Karmel" was not intoxicated when he steered the ship into the cages of fish farms south of Bågø near Assens, the Funen police found out. Therefore it remained unclear what caused the ship to steer into the marine fish farms. The net of the fish farm got stuck in the ship's stern and propeller, which resulted in the escape of 250 tons of trout. The ship entered the port of Kolding on Oct 11 at 9 p.m. and berthed at the North Quay where it should be further examined for damage. The Ship left the port of Kolding again on Oct 13 at 1.30 p.m. bound for Rostock where she berthed on Oct 14 around 4 a.m. at the fertilizer quay in basin C. The remains of the destroyed marine fish farms have been dragged to Assens and were secured in the harbour. Container ship freed trout in fish farm

The "Karmel" ran into a marine fish farm of the Snaptun Fisk-Export off Assens on Oct 10, 2016. This meant that between 70.000 and 80,000 trouts or 250 tons which was one third of its production with a value of up to nine million Danish crowns escaped into the Lillebælt. The ship slammed with the bow into the steel cages, and parts got wrapped around the Propeller. The ship was heading for Assens with a cargo of wood chips at that time. The Danish Police was first notified at 1:14 p.m., but the accident seemed to have happened already at 10.50 a.m. The ship dropped anchjor about six kilometers west of Assens and was detained by the Danish Maritime Authority.

Collision in Brunsbüttel

In the morning of Jan 18, 2016, around 8 a.m. the tank m/v "Coral Lophelia", enroute from Terneuzen to Hamina, was in collision with the "Karmel" which was underway from Pärnu to Stora Vika, in the Brunsbüttel locks of the Kiel Canal around 8 a.m.. The tanker proceeded to Kiel where it berthed at the Bominflot bunker quay for surveys. Also the "Karmel" headed to Kiel and stopped in the locks of Holtenau for the necessary formalities.
