Working Conditions Aboard the Express3

Title: Engine Malfunction Disrupts 'Express 3' Ferry Service Content: On April 2, 2026, the 'Express 3', operating the route between Aarhus and Odden, encountered significant engine issues that led to the cancellation of two scheduled departures. The ferry's troubles originated from a malfunction in its gear housing, prompting immediate repairs. As a result, the vessel was unable to depart at the usual times of 12:30 PM from Aarhus and 2:30 PM from Sjællands Odde. With only three of its four engines operational, the ’Express 3’ faced an extended crossing time, impacting travelers’ plans. Efforts are ongoing to rectify the situation and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Molslinjen had to cancel all crossings of the ferry between Odden and Aarhus with the 'Express 3' on Oct 3 due to a defective gear wheel in the engine. Passengers who were supposed to be on tje 'Express 3' at 12:30 p.m. had the choice between driving south or waiting to see if there was space on the next departure at 2:30 or at 3:30 p.m.

After the scheduled departure from Odden on June 7, 2017, at 4.45 p.m. the "Express 3" suffered a problem with clogged sea water filters. Because of the stormy weather, the captain chose to shelter at Nekselø while the filters were cleaned. Then the ferry to Århus continued with approximately 45 minutes delay and berthed in port at 6.30 p.m.
