On February 28, 2026, the LCT 'Ayeh' was struck by explosive shrapnel in the vicinity of Zirku Island, adjacent to the ADNOC oil terminal. This incident has left the vessel, owned by Khalid Faraj Shipping, with notable damage to its deck as it was conducting operations in the area. Tragically, preliminary reports indicate that an Indian Able Seaman (AB) lost his life in the attack. Although the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed by the relevant authorities, initial investigations revealed visible shrapnel marks on the vessel’s deck.
