On May 30, 2013, a significant maritime incident occurred in the Gulf of Mexico when the tanker "Profit," traversing from Rotterdam to Houston, collided with the cargo vessel "Imperial Spirit," which was en route from Houston to Lagos. This incident took place approximately 30 miles off the coast of Galveston. Fortunately, initial reports indicated no injuries or pollution stemming from either vessel.
