Jinhui Shipping has announced the sale of its 16-year-old supramax bulk carrier, Jin An, to Al Khalejia Aggregates FZE, a company based in the UAE, for $3.4 million. This transaction will result in a significant book loss of approximately HKD 33 million (around $4.25 million) for the shipping company. Jinhui Shipping has owned the vessel since 2000, and as of March 31, 2016, the net book value of Jin An was estimated at HKD 58.57 million. The parent company of Jinhui Shipping, Jinhui Holdings, disclosed the sale details to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, indicating that the delivery of the bulk carrier is scheduled to occur between July 15 and August 31 of this year.

Jinhui Shipping, listed in both Hong Kong and Oslo, has successfully divested another vessel from its fleet. Following the sale of a supramax vessel earlier this year, the company announced the sale of the Jin An for $3.5 million. This 50,000 dwt ship, constructed at Oshima, had been close to being sold on two previous occasions in 2023. However, it has now officially been acquired by undisclosed buyers in the past few days. This move comes as Jinhui is in discussions with creditors regarding a potential restructuring plan.
