Two medevacs in Spanish waters
On April 17, the SAR helicopter Helimer 215 medevaced a sick passenger from the cruise ship 'Queen Mary 2', which was sailing 28 nautical miles from Garrucha. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Deneb' medevaced a sick crew member from the 'Vizconde de Eza off Santander. Thwe operations were coordinated by the CCS of Salvamento MarÃtimo in AlmerÃa and Santander.
Crew quarantined after COVID-19 case
The 'Vizconde' has been removed from service on Aug 29, 2020, after detecting a case of COVID-19, and has been sidelined in Vigo since. All crew members were placed in quarantine as a precaution for a period of 14 days. The whole ship was sanitized.
