On August 3, 2020, the RNLI volunteers at Hartlepool received an urgent call from Humber Coastguard at 5:55 p.m. regarding a male who had fallen ill while aboard the 'Betagas', stationed approximately three miles offshore. In response, the all-weather lifeboat 'Betty Huntbatch' launched at 6:15 p.m., reaching the distressed vessel at 6:30 p.m. Four dedicated crewmembers boarded the ship to provide crucial casualty care. A Coastguard helicopter, arriving on the scene at 6:46 p.m., deployed a crewmember to aid with the medical situation and subsequently winched the patient aboard to transport him to a hospital for further treatment.
