Detention at Sitia
A Port State Control (PSC) inspection was conducted on the "Blue Moon I" at the port of Sitia in the afternoon of Feb 22, 2018. Following the inspection, five of the 12 crew members were found to not hold a certificate of naval competence. In addition to the incompetence of the five crew members, substantial deficiencies were identified in the area of safety at sea, Maritime labour contracts, loading line contracts, training standards certificate issuing, seafarers watch keeping, marine environment protection and International conflict prevention code. As a result, the vessel was detained at Sitia, under the Paris MOU by Port State Control (PSC) inspectors.
