On May 15, 2018, the container vessel 'Tucapel' experienced a critical situation when it broke free from its mooring lines during a berthing maneuver at the Port of Newark, New York. To regain control, the ship was compelled to drop anchor, preventing a potential mishap. With the coordinated effort of four tugboats, the Tucapel was stabilized and secured. After resolving the incident, the ship resumed its journey, departing on May 17, and successfully arrived at the Norfolk International Terminal on May 18.
