On March 21, 2023, the 'Tao Brave' found itself in a challenging situation approximately 17.1 nautical miles west of Sekinchan, Malaysia. During the incident, the ship's captain along with one crew member were escorted to the Selangor State Maritime Headquarters for further interrogation and investigation into the circumstances surrounding the detention. In a coordinated effort, the Indian Coast Guard orchestrated the medical evacuation of Dong Xiaoxuan, a second engineer from China, who experienced partial paralysis aboard the vessel 'Tao Brave'. The ship was navigating from Port Hedland to Dahej when the incident occurred. The Coast Guard deployed the 'Kasturba Gandhi', which was positioned 26 nautical miles away from the vessel. Fortunately, the condition of the sailor was not deemed critical, making the assistance of the Coast Guard ship unnecessary for immediate medical care.
