Container ship drifted in Vestfjord
On Dec 14, 2012, the "Svartfoss" whilst coming from Rørvik suffered engine failure at 3.30 a.m. at Kvalneset, south of Værøy Kerl and drifted towards the coast. A Sea King and the lifeboat "Det Norske Veritas" were dispatched to the ship with its crew of 9. It was then assisted to Bodø by the lifeboat and a tug and moored around 4 p.m. In the early morning of Dec 17 it sailed again bound for Sandnessjoen.
