Diana Containerships Secures Time Charter for M/V Rotterdam with Wan Hai Lines
Diana Containerships Inc. (NASDAQ: DCIX), a prominent player in the global shipping landscape focused on the ownership of containerships, has announced a new time charter agreement for its Post-Panamax vessel, M/V Rotterdam. This deal, forged through a wholly-owned subsidiary, is with Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Under the contract, the gross charter rate is set at $13,150 per day, which is subject to a 3.75% commission to be paid to third-party intermediaries. The charter period will span a minimum of 120 days and a maximum of 170 days, commencing on January 26, 2018. Currently, the M/V Rotterdam is under charter to CMA CGM, Marseille, at a rate of $6,890 per day, accompanied by a 3.5% commission to third parties.
Diana Containerships Welcomes m/v Rotterdam to Its Expanding Fleet
Diana Containerships Inc. has officially announced the delivery of the m/v Rotterdam, a step taken through a wholly-owned subsidiary on October 14, 2015. The m/v Rotterdam, a Post-Panamax container ship constructed in 2008, showcases an impressive capacity of approximately 6,500 TEU. This acquisition follows the formal agreement made by the company on July 29, 2015. With the addition of the Rotterdam, Diana Containerships Inc. now boasts a fleet comprising 14 container vessels—comprising 5 Post-Panamax and 9 Panamax ships. The company is also on track to receive another Post-Panamax container vessel by the close of November 2015.
