HHL Hamburg Completes Successful Loading of Two DCV47 Supply Vessels for Vladivostok Delivery

Sep 02, 2011 08:10

In a significant maritime operation, the heavy-lift carrier HHL Hamburg successfully loaded two DCV47 supply vessels on September 21, 2023, at the roadstead of Port Kavkaz. This project, managed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, is set to enhance operations in Kamchatka as the vessels are scheduled for delivery to Vladivostok by October 1, 2023, according to Hansa Heavy Lift GmbH. The two vessels, known as Sosnovka-1 and Sosnovka-2, each weighing 379 tons, were constructed at the Sosnovsky Shipyard and commissioned by the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency. Their construction is supported by the Federal Target Program titled 'Economic and Social Development of the Far East and TransBaikalia until 2013.' Designed for versatility, the Ro-Ro barges have a carrying capacity of 250 tons, making them suitable for transporting a wide array of cargo, including general goods and wheeled or tracked vehicles. Their roll-on method allows for efficient offshore loading and unloading, crucial for operations in areas with limited docking facilities. The keel of Sosnovka-1, the first of its kind in this series, was laid on January 13, 2010, and it was officially commissioned on August 6, 2011. Following closely, Sosnovka-2 was laid down on January 18, 2010, and also entered service on August 6, 2011. The OJSC Sosnowsky Shipyard, established in 1924, is renowned for its capability to manufacture a variety of vessels, producing up to 300 small ships annually through an efficient production line methodology.
