A new charter has been successfully finalized for delivery in Dalian on April 4th and 5th. This agreement entails a rate of $12,500 per day for a duration of 6 to 8 months, and it has been awarded to SwissMarine. This collaboration marks a significant development in the maritime industry.

Star Bulk Carriers Corp., a prominent name in global shipping and dry bulk cargo transportation, has officially received the M/V Star Vega, a state-of-the-art Post-Panamax bulk carrier with an impressive carrying capacity of approximately 98,000 deadweight tons. In a press release issued today, the company announced that the vessel has commenced a time charter with its sellers for a duration ranging from 30 to 34 months. The contract includes a gross daily hire rate of $15,000, subject to a 1.25% commission on gross revenues. This financial agreement positions Star Vega to generate an estimated $13.4 million in charter revenue over the minimum duration stipulated. Notably, the Star Vega marks the first of two advanced Post-Panamax bulk carriers that are expected to enhance Star Bulk Carriers' operational capabilities, following the binding agreements reported on January 29, 2014. The second vessel, the M/V Star Sirius, is anticipated to join the fleet in early March 2014.

In a significant move in the maritime sector, Star Bulk has acquired the MV GL Daishan for a hefty price tag of $60 million. This strategic purchase reinforces Star Bulk's growing fleet and positions the company for future opportunities in the shipping industry.
