On March 13, 2020, at 08:15 a.m., the reefer vessel 'Star Spirit' faced a harrowing ordeal when nine robbers, arriving in three small boats, boarded the ship at the Callao anchorage. In a violent encounter, three crew members were taken hostage, bound, and assaulted. Fortunately, an alarm was raised, prompting the crew to act quickly, which led to the robbers fleeing the scene before they could steal significant valuables.
