Collision Incident in the Singapore Strait Involves 'Xin Jin Yang' and 'Danum 160'
On January 22, 2020, at approximately 9 p.m., a maritime incident occurred in the western Singapore Strait, just east of Karimunbesar Island, involving the tanker 'Xin Jin Yang' and the container vessel 'Danum 160'. Both vessels were proceeding in the same direction when the collision took place. The 'Xin Jin Yang', which was fully loaded, was forced to halt its transit from Iraq to China, making an unscheduled stop at Karimun Anchorage for necessary inspections at coordinates 01° 5.98' N, 103° 29.82' E. Meanwhile, the 'Danum 160' resumed its journey, continuing its route from Port Klang to Kuching on Borneo Island.
