The last recorded fatality from a maritime attack before this recent pattern unfolded was in November 2022, when a missile strike on the 'KMax Ruler' resulted in the pilot's death. This alarming trend has ignited international concerns as Russian military actions increasingly focus on not just port infrastructure, but also endanger merchant vessels operating within these waters.
