One worker died in explosion in Tuzla
On Aug 14 at 10.30 a.m. an explosion occurred in the slop tank of the 'Seaprincess', which was undergoing maintenance at the Kıran Shipyard in Tuzla in pos. 40° 50.66' N 029° 16.25'E since July 29. One worker died, while another was injured and taken to hospital after initial treatment on scene from medical teams. The explosion occurred due to a gas build-up in the waste storage area. A minor fire that broke out following the explosion was put out. The police started an investigation afterwards.
