Bulk Carrier 'Pacific 07' Towed to Vung Tau for Repairs Following Engine Failure

The Vietnamese Navy has taken prompt action to address the situation involving the bulk carrier 'Pacific 07', which suffered an engine failure while navigating Vietnamese waters. In response to the emergency, the navy directed the Saigon Newport Corporation to coordinate assistance. The Tan Cang Marine Services Joint Stock Company accordingly dispatched a tugboat to tow the distressed vessel to Vung Tau, where it is expected to arrive by March 24. The vessel, carrying a crew of 19 Vietnamese sailors, sent out a distress call prompting nearby maritime traffic to stay vigilant and offer assistance if feasible, reporting to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) of Vietnam. In response to the emergency, the Vietnamese Naval Brigade 955 deployed its vessels, 'KN 464' and 'KN 905', to render aid. The swift action of these naval assets enabled the safe towing of 'Pacific 07' to Song Tu Tây Island on March 18, where necessary repairs could be conducted. This incident highlights the essential role of maritime safety protocols and the prompt response capabilities of the Vietnamese Navy.
