On the afternoon of April 7, the Keratsini Port Authority received reports of a maritime collision involving the vessel 'SC Phoenix' and the ferry 'Smyrna' at the newly established pier in Drapetsonas. Fortunately, no injuries were noted as a result of the incident, and no signs of marine pollution were detected. In response to the situation, the Port Department of Keratsini, under the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, initiated a preliminary investigation. Both vessels have since been prohibited from departing the port until they present a valid certificate of seaworthiness, along with a maintenance certificate from the attending classification society. Notably, 'SC Phoenix' had just arrived at the Port of Piraeus on March 29.

Originally en route from Ashdod to Piraeus, the ship was forced to reduce its speed and drift at sea before resuming travel around midnight. Due to the incident, the SC Phoenix significantly altered its planned itinerary, setting a new course for Limassol, with an expected time of arrival on March 26. While the vessel managed to regain its pace at a reduced speed of 12-13 knots, the fire incident marked a notable disruption in its scheduled voyage.
