Turkish owned bulk carrier granted permission to trasit Strait of Hormuz
**Title: Turkish Bulk Carrier 'Rozana' Navigates Strait of Hormuz after Gaining Iranian Approval** In a significant development for maritime operations in the region, the Turkish-owned bulk carrier 'Rozana' successfully transited the vital Strait of Hormuz on March 13, 2026, following an approval from Iranian authorities. The vessel is currently en route to the Suez Canal. Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, confirmed that 'Rozana' is among 15 Turkish vessels awaiting clearance in the area. The ship was granted passage due to its prior docking at an Iranian port, optimizing its status under the current circumstances. Meanwhile, the remaining 14 Turkish vessels continue to remain in limbo as Turkey engages in diplomatic discussions with Tehran against the backdrop of ongoing regional conflicts and the heightened restrictions impacting this crucial maritime chokepoint. Collectively, the Turkish vessels in the vicinity are carrying a total of 171 crew members, all of whom are affected by the increased scrutiny and selective permissions being issued by Iran. This recent approval comes despite Iran's broader restrictions that have been in place since February 28, highlighting the ongoing complexities in ensuring safe passage for international shipping in the Gulf region.

Anchor and engine damage
The 'Bosphorus Prince', enroute from Pecem to Teesport, suffered an anchor failure in position 54 41.850N, 000 51 100W, off the Echo Tees Anchorage 10,6 miles from the mouth of the river Tees on Sep 23, 2019, at 6.20 p.m. The vessel successfully used the main engine to assist in lifting the starboard anchor off the bottom, but was unable to start the main engine. The vessel reported that the engine has been inspected and that the piston rings were broken. The estimated time to complete the repair was 1,5 days. The Humber Coastguard and Tees VTS continued to monitor the vessel. On Sep 24 at 9.40 a.m. the Tees VTS got reported that the vessel was outside their jurisdiction and that due to the westerly current on scene the ship, if it dragged anchor, would move away from the pipelines. On Sep 25 it remained moored in pos. 54° 41.79' N 000° 50.78' W.
