Drugs found in a sealed bag

On Oct 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. customs officers in La Rochelle started a control of the "Quetzal Arrow" in the port of La Pallice. After several hours of intensive search, the customs found 16 kg of cocaine packed in bundles and placed in a sealed bag. The drugs were concealed in the metal structures of the ship in a passage to access the double hull of the ship. The bulkcarrier had come from Brazil with a stop in Colombia. The value of the drugs was estimated to be more than 950,000 Euro. The ship's captain was handed over to the judicial police of La Rochelle.
