On Dec 18 the medical evacuation of a passenger from the 'Queen Victoria' became necessary 32 nautical miles southwst of Fisterra, while the ship was en route from Southampton, UK, to Lisbon in heavy seas. The CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 401, which hoisted the patient and transferred hm to the airport of A Coruña, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital for further medical care.

On June 214, 2024, the 'Queen Victoria' sailing 100 nautical miles wast of Barcelona, en route from La Seyne sur Mer to Palma de Mallorca, requested the medical evacuation of a 32-year-old woman due to premature birth. The CCS Palma and CCS Barcelona of Salvamento MarĂ­timo coordinated the response and mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 206, which hoisted the woman and transported her to the Son Espases hospital in Mallorca. The cruise ship arrived in the port on June 15 at 7 a.m.

Cruise ship monitored after norovirus outbreak

The Hawaii Department of Health continued to monitor a reported outbreak of gastrointestinal illness aboard the 'Queen Victoria' which docked in Honolulu on Feb. 12. Based on available information, the outbreak appeared to have been contained, and the docking of the cruise ship was not considered to be a threat to people in Hawaii. The Department, howver, coordinated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Timewise 129 passengers and 25 crew members were sick, but by the time the ship had arrived in San Francisco, the cases already had decreased substantially. Measures such as disinfecting surfaces have been implemented and ill passengers and crew were isolated. The CDC Vessel Sanitation Program also monitored the ship into the next voyage to ensure there was no carryover of illness. The VSP was also monitoring for any new reports of illness. The cause of the illness has not been confirmed, but the symptoms and spread appear to be similar to norovirus.
