On October 27, 2023, maritime operations in Ukraine's Black Sea waters saw a resurgence as four vessels departed from ports in the Odesa region. The ships that took to the sea included the 'Propus', 'Iasos', 'Gloria G', and 'Manassa Queen', all of which set sail from Odesa. In an interesting twist, the tanker 'Mavka', bulk carrier 'Golden Arrow', and cargo ship 'Maranta' were en route to Ukrainian ports during this period. The temporary halt in shipping activities was initially reported on October 26 by Barva Invest, a Ukrainian consultancy, along with British security firm Ambrey and a local publication, Ukrainian Ports, citing potential dangers posed by Russian warplanes and naval mines. However, Ukrainian officials quickly refuted these claims. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reaffirmed on October 27 that the export corridor would continue operating despite underlying threats. This corridor serves as a lifeline for Ukraine to reignite its maritime exports amid ongoing tensions, particularly after Russia's withdrawal from a UN-mediated agreement that had previously allowed limited food exports during the conflict. As of October 26, 23 vessels were actively loading cargo across the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi. To date, a total of 51 ships have navigated through the corridor, successfully exporting over 1.3 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural goods and various other commodities.

On May 31, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Topkapi', sailing in ballast from Yarimca to Novorossiysk, experienced a technical malfunction while navigating the critical Istanbul Strait. The incident prompted the vessel to anchor at Büyükdere for repairs at around 3:30 p.m. Fortunately, the crew conducted necessary maintenance, allowing the 'Topkapi' to resume its journey. After completing repairs, the ship continued its passage through the strait on June 1 at 5:00 a.m.
