On July 9, 2021, the U.S. Coast Guard executed a critical medevac operation approximately 10 miles off the coast of Freeport, Texas, rescuing a 27-year-old crew member from the tanker 'Prism Agility.' The Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston command center received an urgent call around 11 a.m. regarding the sailor's severe breathing difficulties. After assessing the situation, watchstanders quickly consulted with the duty flight surgeon, who advised the need for immediate medical evacuation. In response, the crew of a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Houston swiftly launched to the distressed vessel. Upon arrival, the helicopter crew efficiently hoisted the mariner and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was reported to be in stable condition. At the time of the incident, 'Prism Agility' was safely anchored in the Freeport TX anchorage.
