Cape Bradley Detaches from Moorings Amid Storm in Amsterdam
On March 9, 2019, during cargo operations, the oil tanker 'Cape Bradley' experienced a significant incident at the Euro Tank Terminal in Amsterdam Vito. Strong westerly winds caused the vessel to break free from its moorings, resulting in the cargo arm becoming entangled and severely damaged against the ship's manifold and the jetty. In response to the emergency, tugs 'Pollux' (IMO: 5422112) and 'Svitzer Tempest' (IMO: 9793076) were dispatched to provide immediate assistance, effectively maneuvering the vessel back toward the jetty to prevent further movement due to the adverse weather conditions. The tugs remained on site, ensuring the stability of the 'Cape Bradley' until March 12, when the situation was finally under control. After being secured, the tanker departed from Amsterdam on April 12, setting its course for Tuzla with an estimated arrival date of April 22.
