Pluto ran into Great Belt Bridge
Underway from Gdansk to Vordingborg the "Pluto" allided with the northern pillar of the Storstrøm (Great Belt) Bridge in the foremidday of Oct 27, 2011. The crew reported the incident only in the afternoon. The Søværnets Operative Kommandos Maritime Assistance Service (MAS), started an investigation, and the ship was detained in Vordingborg. The damage caused by the impact was about 2 metres long and 20 centimetres deep, about eight metres above water level. currently closed to rail traffic after cracks were found in several spans. The vessel suffered only slight damage.
