On September 13, 2018, the tanker 'Planeo' grounded on the Volga River at kilometer mark 2.829 while carrying a load of diesel oil. Fortunately, the vessel managed to refloat itself without external assistance. Reports indicate that there were no damages or leaks following the incident, ensuring the safety of the vessel and its cargo.

The Palmali Group of Companies has categorically dismissed accusations suggesting that its ships were implicated in oil smuggling operations linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) and BMZ Group, a firm owned by the son of the Turkish president. According to reports from Maltese media, Palmali, which operates multiple subsidiaries registered in Malta, emphasized its commitment to lawful maritime practices. 'None of our client's vessels are involved in the transportation of illegal products, nor are they connected to any sanctioned goods or illicit dealings,' a company spokesperson stated. This assertion follows a December 13 article from the Malta Independent, which alleged that Maltese ships previously associated with BMZ and now under Palmali's ownership were used for illicit oil transport on behalf of ISIS. Legal representatives for Palmali clarified that the vessels in question, including MT Mecid Aslanov, MT Begin Aslanova, MT Poet Qabil, MT Armada Breeze, and MT Armada Fair, have strictly been engaged in the delivery of vegetable oils and chemicals, denying any involvement in illegal activities.
