What Crew Members Say About Pavel-Kutakhov

On Aug 23, 2018, at 4.15 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Pavel Kutakhov" in the North Atlantic off Greenland, while the ship was receiving fuel from the tanker "Nordstraum" (IMO: 9036284), in a ship-to-ship supply. The fire fighting system was activated, and on Aug 24 at 3 a.m. the fire was extinguished. During the firefighting operation, the chief engineer died under yet unknown circumstances. The trawler was drifting disabled in the sea, and another trawler, the "Kapitan Demidenko" (IMO: 8907137) was sent to assist.

The "Pavel Kutakhov" on Sep 27, 2011, was fined with 350,000 million Norwegian crowns for having mounted automatic fish dumping equipment. The equipment was discovered by the Coast Guard vessel "Andenes" during a routine inspection northwest of Tromsø. The trawler was taken to the quay in Tromsø on Sep 24.
