Port of Shenzen's DaChan Bay Terminals has announced that OOCL Taipei has become the first vessel to utilise shore power at the terminal. The vessel is said to have successfully plugged into DaChan Bay Terminals' shore power system on January 22. The development is said to mark a milestone in the terminal's efforts toward building a green port. New 8888-TEU OOCL Taipei named, DBS Bank thanked HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced the christening of its newest 8,888-TEU newbuilding at a naming ceremony held on Changxing Island in Shanghai. Named the OOCL Taipei by sponsor Mylene Seah, this SX-class containership is the latest addition to the fleet in the transpacific trade, linking Asia and North America. Designed and built with operating efficiency objectives, OOCL Taipei adopts the latest and most modern shipbuilding technologies to optimise energy consumption.
