Working Conditions Aboard the Olav-Duun

The 'Olav Duun', serving on the route Hofles-Geisnes-Lund, suffered technical problems on July 15, 2025, and the route had to be suspended until further notice by the operator Torghatten. The ship was sidelined in Hoflesja. The repairs were depending on the delivery of external spare parts. Continuous work was being done to get the ÄOlav Duun' back on its route as quickly as possible.

All departures onthe Hofles-Geisnes-Lund route had to be canceled due to technical problems aboard the "Olav Duun". After a turbo failure the ferry suffered strong smoke development while enroute to Hofles on July 19, 2017. The ship arrived in port at reduced speed, passengers were not endangered. The ferry company FosenNamsos Sjø was working on getting a new turbo in place. The ferry connection between Hofles and Lund was interrupted as the "Olav Duun" on Apr 16, 2011, had to be taken out of service due to a technical failure. The ferry remained at the quay in Lund as wind was too strong tu pull it away with tugs, so the ferry "Herlaug " was forced to leave out Lund serving only between Hofles and Geisnes.
