Ness in embankment
Enroute Lisboa - Mantyluoto the "Ness" on Nov 12, 2011, at 12.15 p.m. suffered rudder failure sailing eastbound in the Kiel Canal and ran into the northern embankment. The Kiel-based tug "Holtenau" which was by chance close to the grounding site enroute to Brunsbuettel parted from its tow and pulled the "Ness" off. The paper carrier was moored at the pilings in the passing point Fischerhütte for investigations.
