Disabled survey ship towed to Lerwick
The "Ocean Observer" got survey cables entangled to the propellers at its survey site on May 1, 2019, at 11.30 p.m. The cables had a length of 1200 metres. The ship was disabled in position 59 19 00 N, 001 27 00 E, at 2326 hrs, May 1. There were no defects in the engine capabilities. The intention of the crew was to sail to Lerwick to allow divers to assist in clearing the cables. The ship, which had only bow thruster capability remaining, was taken in tow by the tug "Ievoli Black" (IMO: 9439242), ETA at Lerwick was May 3, 10 a.m.
