Man died after fall over board

In the afternoon of Nov 23, 2015, a crew member of the "Olza" was beaten overboard in the Northsea 25 km NW of Vlieland. The KNRM received a report of the freighter after the crew member had not been seen for two hours. Lifeboats of the stations in Den Helder, de Cocksdorp (Texel) and Vlieland were assisted by two helicopters, a coastguard plane and the Dutch navy ship "Zr. Ms. Karel Doorman". At 4.45 p.m. the man was found and recovered by an RHIB of the "Karel Doorman". An attempt was made to resuscitate him, but in vain.
