Medevac off Algeciras

On April 19, 2021, at 11.30 a.m. a crew member of the 'Violeta B' fell ill and needed to be medevaced, while the ship was enroute from Valencia to Las Palmas with an ETA as of April 21. The crew contacted Salvamento Marítimo, which deployed the SAR boat 'Salvamar Atria' for the medical evacuation at the entrance to the bay of Algeciras. The patient has been transferred to the Saladillo where an ambulance was waiting which took the crew member to the Quirónsalud hospital for treatment.
