Gronuding on Orinoco River
**Title: Vessel Grounding Disrupts Orinoco River Navigation** On March 30, 2026, just past midnight, the 'Noina', a vessel managed by ACBL in Venezuela and recently acquired by Jindal Steel Power, ran aground at position 08° 25' N 062° 38' W, specifically at mile 169 of the Orinoco River. The grounding was attributed to a probable overload of iron ore, leading to serious navigation challenges in the area. The incident obstructed the river's navigation channel near the Aramaya sector within the San Roque area. The 'Noina' had departed from the CVG Ferrominera Orinoco docks in Puerto Ordaz at 11:20 p.m. UTC, carrying a cargo of iron ore that surpassed the river's mandated draft limits. This excess weight ultimately resulted in the vessel grounding at a depth of mile 169.5. In response to the situation, four tugboats, namely 'Auyantepui', 'Ana C', 'Marqués de Carabas', and a unit from the INEA (National Institute of Aquatic Spaces), have been mobilized to conduct towing operations; however, these attempts have proven unsuccessful. The weight of the cargo has hindered the vessel's ability to float, rendering towing efforts ineffective in moving the 'Noina' to deeper waters. Following the incident, the Port Captain of Ciudad Guayana, Captain Gustavo Dionisio García González, issued an official navigation restriction, communicated via INEA 00277, prohibiting vessels exceeding 500 gross tons from navigating in the area. Bulk carrier attacked by Houthi terrorists
The 'Seajoy', en route from Rizhao to Durban, was hit by a waterborne improvised explosive device on June 27, 2024, while sailing in the Red Sea, about 80 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah. No one on board was injured, and the ship continued sailing to the next scheduled port. The UKMTO has not yet reported any damage to the vessel. According to the Houthi militia, the ship was attacked with missiles, drones and surface drones because it has allegedly called at an Israeli port. However, searches in maritime databases do not confirm calls in Israel in the past 12 months.
Ship released from qurantine
The 'Seajoy' has been released from quarantine at Santos anchorage, which had lasted since June 23, 2020. The ship had loaded 63.500 tons of soybeans, but upon the departure two crew were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The crew was quarantined on board, and after a finally check set sail to the Iran.
