Disabled after fire, Bay of Biscay
Fire started in superstructure on Dec 22 2011, vessel was some 30 nm WNW of Finisterre, Spain, Bay of Biscay. Fire was extinguished by crew, but left vessel disabled. Lieke asked for assistance, La Coruna authorities were going to dispatch salvage tug Don Inda, but owner rejected Don Inda and contracted commercial tug Ria de Vigo instead. Finally, it was Ria de Vigo who sailed to distress vessel and took Lieke on tow, to be towed to Arousa, Galicia, ETA morning Dec 23. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
