Engine trouble off Littlehampton
The "Vela", en route from Ventspils, Latvia to lagos, Nigeria, with 22 crew members on board, experienced a main engine defect in position 50 25 34 N, 000 28 25 W, 26 miles south of Littlehampton, on Aug 17, 2018, at 10.05 a.m. The incident was caused due to a defect in the exhaust valve. The ship was 37345.80 metric tonnes of gasoline. After repairs it continued the voyage Ventspils-Lagos, ETA Aug 31.
