Idled ferry to be auctioned
The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras will auction the 'Boraq' on June 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. The ship has been docked at the Isla Verde pier since 2016, with practically no activity since then. The base sale price, according to the Official State Gazette of this May 11, will be 3,200,000 Euros, slightly more than what was paid in mid-May 2016 by the Inter Shipping company to take over the ship. An important adjustment had to be made in order for it to be operational again. The period for submitting offers will be open until 2:00 p.m. on June 9, 2023, through the documentation that will be delivered by hand at the Legal Services Department of the Port Authority.
