Allision with Chalkis Bridge
On Mar 13, 2016, around 00.45 a.m. the "Madares" allided with the old Chalkis Bridge on Euboea island. While passing the bridge in northern direction, she got off the right course and slammed against the quayside. The ship was route from Aliveri with destination Larymna. Both the bridge, which already had been hit in January, and the vessel suffered damages. Luckily, The bridge mechanism did not suffer damage, but the cement of the parapet in fact did. The "Madares", aboard which the crew of eight remained uninjured, was ordered to anchor north of the building, where an investigation was launched. The Port Authority Halkida was informed about the accident accordingly.
