The 'Meridian Dos' suffered an engine room fire in the North Harbour of Tondo at the Manila North Container Terminal on Dec 3, 2025. Thick smoke started emanating from the vessel, which was loaded with container vans, at around 6:00 a.m., when it was preparing to depart. A second alarm sounded around 20 minutes later. Around 30 trucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection were mobilised to the scene. The fire was declared to be put out at 8:45 p.m. It could be contained to the lower decks of the vessel. Three crew members were injured in the incident and were rushed to a hospital for medical attention. A formal investigation has been opened into the incident by the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Ports Authority.
