Balearia Canarias Launches New Catamaran Service to Morro Jable
Balearia Canarias is set to enhance its maritime offerings with the introduction of the new catamaran 'Mercedes Pinto' on the Morro Jable route, with service commencing on June 5, 2026. After its departure from the Naval Gijon Shipyard on April 20, the vessel is now preparing for operations. Passengers can now book tickets and review the newly scheduled timetables, featuring three daily departures: at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. from Las Palmas, while the return from Morro Jable will be at 9:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. It's noteworthy that the first and last journeys of the day will be exclusively operated by the 'Mercedes Pinto,' while the 'Volcán de Taidía' will facilitate the mid-day trip. This service is a revitalization of the 'Three in a Row' initiative, ensuring daily connectivity among Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Morro Jable with an efficient transportation solution. On May 20, the catamaran was navigating towards Arrecife, Lanzarote, for essential docking trials, which also included test runs at Playa Blanca, Morro Jable, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Balearia is also organizing the forthcoming presentation of its flagship vessel, which will take place at the ports of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Morro Jable in the days ahead.
