Medevac off Westkapelle

A crew member of the "Menkar" became ill with chest pain on Jan 30, 2012, and needed an immediate medevac off Flushing. The lifeboat "Uly" rushed to the ship and went alongside about 20 minutes boat later. The sick man was on a chair in the wheelhouse in so far stable condition which improved by giving him oxygen. He was taken aboard the "Uly" which sailed back to Westkapelle where an ambulance was already waiting. After he was stabilized, the man was transported to the hospital in Goes.
