The cargo vessel 'Medkon Izmir', which encountered engine failure near Alexandria on June 15, 2018, has reached Tuzla after a significant towing operation. Unable to perform the necessary repairs at sea, the tug 'Paris' was dispatched to assist in bringing the ailing ship to Tuzla's shipyard for comprehensive maintenance. On June 26, the 'Medkon Izmir' successfully arrived at the Tuzla anchorage where it awaited formalities before entering the shipyard around noon. A class surveyor boarded the vessel to evaluate the extent of the damage and determine the appropriate repair strategy. After undergoing repairs, the 'Medkon Izmir' departed from the shipyard on August 10 at 10:30 a.m. and proceeded to berth in Izmit later that same day at 5:15 p.m., marking its first port of call following the servicing.
