On Jan 4 at 2 p.m. the 'Med Samsun' dropped anchor at the Güllük anchorage. Shore based technical team and class surveyor were attending on board the vessel under supervision of the owners' superintendent. Repairs were started as regarded by the class surveyor's further recommendations. On Jan 5 the ship remained stationary in pos. 37° 15.17' N 027° 34.64' E. Upon completion of repairs, the vessel was granted departure permission. On Jan 7, it sailed from Güllük and arrived at Tekirdag on Jan 9 at 8.50 a.m.

On Dec 30, 2019, the Naxos Port Authority was informed in the afternoon about a mechanical breakdown of the 'Med Samsun' which was moored in an area northeast of Naxos, with 19 crew members on board. The vessel had anchored due to adverse weather conditions. The ship was banned from sailing by the Naxos Port Authority until the submission of a certificate of class maintenance by the ship's registrar.On Jan 1, the ship was under tow of the Greek tug 'Alexander 5' (IMO:9020405). On Jan 2 both ships were anchored off Ikaria in pos. 37° 32.34' N 026° 11.74' E. On Jan 3 the convoy was underway again.
