Human remains found in engine room - death of three missing seafarers confirmed
**Title: Recovery Efforts Intensify After Human Remains Discovered in Engine Room of 'Mayuree Naree'** **Content:** Thai authorities are intensifying their search efforts for three missing crew members of the MV 'Mayuree Naree', following a distressing attack in the Strait of Hormuz. The crew members are believed to have been trapped inside the vessel’s engine room during the incident that left them unaccounted for. On March 30, Panidol Patchimsawat, the acting director-general of the Department of Information and deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the ministry has been actively monitoring the situation surrounding the missing sailors since the attack. However, the investigation took a grim turn on April 3 when authorities announced the discovery of human remains within the engine room of the damaged ship, though no identification or specific count has been disclosed. The somber confirmation of the loss came on April 8, when Thailand's Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow held a press conference confirming the fatalities of the three crew members. The minister noted that prior to this, he had reached out to his counterparts in Oman on March 12 and Iran on March 15 to request assistance for the 20 Thai crew members aboard, including those still missing. The vessel's owner, Precious Shipping Public Company, has dispatched specialized search and rescue (SAR) teams to the site to assess the compromised ship. Despite challenges posed by fire damage and flooding within the engine room, these teams have been conducting extensive searches of all accessible areas. Unfortunately, there has yet to be any sign of the three missing crew members. Currently, the 'Mayuree Naree' remains stranded in shallow waters off Qeshm Island as authorities continue to navigate the delicate situation. **Title: Discovery of Human Remains in Engine Room Amid Ongoing Search for Missing Crew from 'Mayuree Naree'** In a harrowing development, Thai officials are intensifying their search for three crew members of the 'Mayuree Naree' who have been unaccounted for following an attack in the Strait of Hormuz. The men are believed to have been trapped in the engine room when the incident occurred. On March 30, Panidol Patchimsawat, the acting director-general of the Department of Information and deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that efforts to locate the missing seamen have been ongoing since the attack. The situation escalated on April 3 when authorities announced the discovery of human remains in the engine room of the stricken vessel. However, as of now, there has been no identification of the remains nor clarity on how many bodies were recovered. Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeaw reached out to officials in Oman on March 12 and those in Iran on March 15, requesting assistance in the search for all 20 Thai crew members aboard, including the three still unaccounted for. The owner of the 'Mayuree Naree', Precious Shipping Public Company, has mobilized specialized search and rescue (SAR) teams to assess the damaged ship. Unfortunately, progress has been stymied by extensive fire damage and flooding within the engine room. Nevertheless, rescue teams have diligently searched all accessible areas of the vessel but have yet to locate the three missing individuals. Currently, the 'Mayuree Naree' remains grounded in shallow waters off the coast of Qeshm Island, further complicating the recovery effort. As the investigation continues, the maritime community remains hopeful for a resolution in this tragic incident. For updates, watch here: [Video Link](https://x.com/i/status/2037553324652642609).

**Title: 'Mayuree Naree' Aground in Strait of Hormuz Weeks Post-Attack** In a troubling turn of events, the cargo ship 'Mayuree Naree' has run aground in the Strait of Hormuz on March 27, following an earlier assault that occurred on March 11. The vessel, which has now become a wreck, is stranded near the coastal village of Ramchah on Qeshm Island, situated off the coast of Iran. In a recent statement on March 24, Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow provided an update regarding the ongoing search efforts for three Thai crew members who are still unaccounted for. A collaborative rescue operation involving Iranian and Omani authorities successfully gained access to the 'Mayuree Naree'; however, the status of the missing crew remains uncertain. As the situation unfolds, the vessel has since been relocated to the northern shore of Lark Island, part of Qeshm County and located roughly ten kilometers east of its initial grounding site. The international maritime community continues to monitor developments closely as rescue efforts proceed.
Abandoned ship drifted into Iranian waters
**Title: Abandoned Vessel Drifts into Iranian Waters: Thailand Responds** In a concerning development, the abandoned ship 'Mayuree Naree' has drifted from Omani territory into Iranian waters, raising alarms for the remaining crew members on board. The Thai Foreign Ministry is actively coordinating efforts to safeguard the three remaining Thai sailors stranded on the vessel. On March 15, the Royal Thai Navy was alerted by the Royal Navy of Oman that the ‘Mayuree Naree’ had departed from Omani waters, prompting immediate action. Thai officials are currently in negotiations with Iranian authorities to secure the safe release of the crew members believed to be trapped aboard the disabled ship. The Royal Thai Navy is closely monitoring this evolving situation and is collaborating with stakeholders from Oman and the UAE to ensure the wellbeing of the sailors. In a show of support, Oman has indicated its readiness to resume monitoring operations should the vessel venture back into its waters. As the situation develops, the focus remains on the safety of the crew and addressing the implications of the ship's unexpected drift into Iranian territory.
20 crew members repatriated
**Title: Repatriation of 20 Crew Members from the "Mayuree Naree" After Strait of Hormuz Incident** On March 16, 20 Thai crew members from the ill-fated vessel "Mayuree Naree" returned home to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, following a harrowing encounter in the Strait of Hormuz on March 11. The ship was struck by two projectiles, an incident attributed to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC alleged that the "Mayuree Naree" had entered the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz despite their repeated warnings. In the wake of the attack, three sailors remain unaccounted for, with fears that they may be trapped within the damaged engine room. The ship’s owner, Precious Shipping, has committed to supporting the repatriated crew, offering medical evaluations and mental health support as they adjust after the traumatic event. The urgent focus continues to be on the search efforts for the missing crew members, underscoring the dire situation following the incident. Safety concerns in this crucial maritime corridor are being brought to the forefront as the international community follows the developments closely.
Royal Thai Government lodged protest after Iran attacked civilian ship - three missing crew members said to be alive
**Title: Thailand's Diplomatic Push Following Attack on 'Mayuree Naree'; Missing Crew Members Reportedly Alive** In a significant diplomatic move, the Royal Thai Government has formally protested against the Islamic Republic of Iran after the 'Mayuree Naree,' a civilian vessel, fell victim to a violent attack in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. On March 12, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Sirilak Niyom, held a crucial meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Thailand, Nassereddin Heidari, to address the pressing concerns surrounding the incident. During the discussion, Niyom articulated Thailand's strongest objection regarding the damages inflicted upon the 'Mayuree Naree,' which was assaulted shortly after departing from Khalifa Port. The Thai government is demanding that Iranian authorities issue a formal apology and provide a thorough explanation of the events leading up to the interception and subsequent damage of the civilian ship. It is important to note that the 'Mayuree Naree' had adhered to enhanced security protocols and complied with all maritime security advisories and reporting requirements before the attack. The Iranian Ambassador expressed regret for the distressing situation and assured the Thai delegation that he would relay the formal protest to the Iranian leadership in Tehran for further deliberation. Meanwhile, the Precious Shipping Public Company Limited (SET: PSL), the operator of the 'Mayuree Naree,' has provided temporary accommodations for the 20 crew members who were rescued and brought to safety. Efforts to locate the three remaining crew members, who are reportedly still alive, are being orchestrated by Thailand’s Marine Department in collaboration with the Royal Thai Navy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These agencies have engaged with the Government of Oman and the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) to ensure ongoing support and search operations. Admiral Thadawut Thatpitakkul, the Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Navy, confirmed on March 13 that the missing crew members are alive, but rescue operations face significant challenges due to ongoing hostilities in the area. Intermittent gunfire has hindered the ability of officials to approach the vessel for immediate extraction. In light of the delicate situation, the Royal Thai Navy has deployed liaison officers to cooperate with the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and coordinated efforts with Thai embassies in Manama, Bahrain, and Muscat, Oman, as well as various neighboring navies. The overarching goal remains to prioritize the safety of Thai nationals amidst these complex circumstances. Bulkcarrier in hit and run accident
The "Mayuree Naree" hit the fishing boat "Divnine" off the Kochi coast early on July 8, 2018, and sailed away in a hit and run case. The coastal police have begun an inquiry to trace the vessel after the incident about 20 nautical miles south-east of Munambam harbour which took place around 12.30 a.m. when the fishing boat, owned by Antoniyar Picha of Thiruvananthapuram, was hit by the vessel. Two fishermen, aged, 50 and 56, of Pozhiyur in Thiruvananthapuram, who were part of the five-member crew, sustained injuries. The fishermen could not see the ship heading towards them due to the heavy rain and wind at that time. All of a sudden, the other ship emerged out of the waves from behind and hit the boat, throwing two people into the sea. On an alert raised by the crew, an Indian Coast Guard vessel rushed to the scene and rescued the fishermen. The boat, which was damaged due to the impact of the collision, returned safely to Vypin. The "Mayuree Naree" was on its way from Gujarat to Paradip port in Odisha from Gujarat, ETA July 12.
