Collision in Suez Canal
The tank m/v 'Aligote' (IMO: 9440497), en route from La Skhirra, was in collision with the 'Lyric Magnolia', coming from Stingsnaes, which was moored on the Great Bitter Lake in the Suez Canal on April 4, 2023, at around 05.15 a.m. Both ships were in a southbound convoy. The 'Aligote' was anchored near the 'Lyric Magnolia' and was preparing to move from the waiting area. Strong winds contributed to the incident. Both ships suffered slight damages and remained anchored as of April 5. The canal traffic was suspended for some short time after the accident.
