What Crew Members Say About Kiran-Asya

In the Atayaş port in the Iskenderun district of Atay a fire broke out aboard the 'Kıran Asya' which had loaded a cargo of wheat on Sep 9, 2019, at 11.30 p.m.. Crew and port officials informed the fire and police teams. The fire had started in the boiler room, and flames and fumes were rising when the fire fighters arrived. The Hatay Metropolitan Municipality attended the scene with a large number of fire fighters who extinguished the blaze within five hours. After they gained control of the flames at 1.10 a.m., they started with the cooling work.
